Big Angelo Mosca blew out of Boston in the early 50s bound for Notre Dame. Philadelphia drafted him but circumstance drove him north to Hamilton in the CFL.
Mosca’s free-spirited nature landed him in Ottawa where he won the first of five Grey Cup rings in 1960. But by ’62, he was back with the Tiger-Cats and ran off four titles in ten years.
Mosca’s profile peaked when he knocked BC halfback Willie Flemming out of the ’63 title game. In 15 CFL seasons, Angie played in nine Grey Cups. His last game was a victory in ’72.
He extended his celebrity with a successful professional wrestling career as “King Kong” Mosca.
