We are a trading nation, and our biggest trading partner is the United States. Over the years, we have had economic disagreements with our neighbours to the south that we have solved with treaties. But every treaty means compromise, and every compromise means that someone is disappointed. The history of development is a history of debating, wrangling, and arguing.
